Keane, the nation’s leading provider of comprehensive unclaimed property compliance services, has announced its summer schedule of regional unclaimed property seminars to be held in St. Louis, Missouri; Phoenix, Arizona; and Palo Alto, California.
Each unclaimed property seminar will be hosted by Keane’s National Consulting & Advisory Services Team and feature guest speakers from the Missouri State Treasurer’s Office, Arizona Department of Revenue Unclaimed Property Unit, and California State Controller’s Office, respectively.
- Missouri Unclaimed Property Holders Seminar: Tuesday, July 21
- Arizona Unclaimed Property Holders Seminar: Wednesday, August 19
- California Unclaimed Property Holders Seminar: Thursday, August 20
“Each state has its own unique set of laws and rules governing unclaimed property. Most organizations are unfamiliar with the high level of complexity of these laws,” noted Barbara Rice, Keane State Compliance Liaison.
“Keane’s holder seminars are an excellent educational opportunity for anyone involved with unclaimed property compliance and reporting. The seminars provide attendees with not only a solid foundation of all aspects of unclaimed property compliance, but also provide the opportunity to hear directly from state unclaimed property officials.”
Keane’s objective is to help organizations identify tactics and strategies to obtain compliance for the upcoming escheat reporting cycles, reduce the risk of unclaimed property audit, and apply best practices to maximize the return of abandoned property to its rightful owners. Topics of discussion will include:
- What is Unclaimed Property?
- Compliance with the States’ Unclaimed Property Laws
- Importance of Compliance
- Becoming and Remaining Compliant
- Recent Developments
- Best Practices
Keane’s regional seminar programs are free of charge, but space is limited. CPE credits are also available for qualified attendees. To register for any of these events, please visit www.KeaneUP.com/events.
